Sales Representative
Our client is a leading organisation in the Biotech sector and they are seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join their team. Their sole focus will be to provide support to their client’s existing network of distributors. As a Sales Representative specializing in distributor support, the successful incumbent will play a crucial role in maintaining strong relationships with these valued partners and ensure their success in promoting and selling their client’s products. The primary responsibility will be to engage and collaborate with distributors, providing them with the necessary resources, training, and assistance to maximize sales and achieve their targets.
The role will be working solely for their client who is based in South Africa. Prior sales experience is highly advantageous, but good knowledge of the recombinant protein and antibody market in a product focused role will be considered. Previous Distributor management understanding or experience will be greatly preferred.
Responsibilities
Distributor Sales Support:
- Collaborate closely with distributors to analyze their sales data, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to increase revenue and market share.
- Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.
- Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and social media.
- Set up meetings with potential clients and pass any sales leads to the relevant distributor.
- Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services.
- Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data.
- Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve better results.
- Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with distributors.
Distributor Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with their existing distributors.
- Develop a deep understanding of their businesses, challenges, and goals to provide tailored support and guidance.
- Conduct regular training sessions, both in person and remotely, to educate distributors on their products, features, benefits, and sales techniques.
- Equip them with the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively represent their brand.
Product Expertise:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of their product portfolio, including new releases, updates, and industry trends.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date information to distributors.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Master’s degree in life science or related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Sales Representative or relevant role.
- Good knowledge of the recombinant protein and antibody market.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under aggressive timelines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Thorough understanding of marketing and sales techniques.
- Fast learner and passion for sales.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
- Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations.
- Able to travel locally and internationally as required.
